7) Topic #1. Some skills like speed reading or less-sleeping can save a lot of time. Do you have some such skills? Tell about your ways to save time. (Alex's topic)

I think most of my classmates will agree that at NES we've learned a lot of useful skills apart from the things we've learned at the lessons.
Firstly, it's fast reading. That is really useful skill. I think it would be very difficult to do our homework without it. If in the past I was reading book in week or two, then now I understood that I can do it in two or three days. Deadlines economics made me believe that it's possible!
Secondly, it is less sleeping. If in the past I slept at least seven or eight hours, but now I sleep about four or five hours. The most interesting thing is that it's enough! My productivity almost do not change! Of course, sometimes I feel sleepy, but surprisingly it became very rare situation.
Thirdly, I've increased the time of hard working. If in the past it was almost impossible for me to continue my studying after three or four hours nonstop, but now I can do studying during eight (or even ten hours if it is deadline that day) without any rest and sometimes even without any food :),
Fourthly, I increased my productivity. I can do a lot more work per hour today. I think, we can call it time management. So I improved my time manegement a lot. To tell the truth, I understand that it's very useful skill. Sometimes it is even the most important one, because at first it was very difficult for me to organize my time and that's why sometimes I didn't do my homework whereas today I understand that I had a lot of time to do it.
As you see, NES gave me a lot of useful skills apart from simple knowledge.

  1. In my opinion, sleeping enough is a necessary condition for a good work and good feeling. As one person from the second course said for me:"Yes, it's really to sleep 4-5 hours a day, but after a half of year, maybe year, your health becomes worse". And a lot of different people, who were not students, but worked, said me that it's very important to sleep enough for health and for good efficiency of work. I think that with good time-management skills it's really to sleep about 7-8 hours and have a couple hours of free time even in NES.

  2. I agree with Alexandr; sleep is so valuable! I feel terrible if I don't get at least 7 hours of sleep a night, and you should be careful of the long-term effects of sleep deprivation. That being said, I probably don't get as much work done as you do...
